Problem & Solution

Paper Bottlenecks in Government
& Regulated Industries

Government and many regulated industries must still maintain paper documents as the authoritative “gold standard” record, creating an operational bottleneck that limits AI adoption, stalls automation, fragments audit workflows, and necessitates manual verification.

The VeritasAnchor Solution
(U.S. Patent No. 12,132,827)

VeritasAnchor LLC is developing patented physical-to-digital trust infrastructure that securely links authoritative paper records to authenticated, AI-ready, tamper-evident digital replicas anchored to cryptographically verifiable blockchain-based audit trails.

How the Solution Is Meaningfully Different from Alternatives

Limitations of Conventional Digitization

of Paper Records

Even when digitized, if those copies lack a cryptographically secure link to the physical source of truth, AI becomes a liability, not an asset.

Conventional digitization can make a scan searchable, but because existing systems rely on metadata, logs, and document-management controls rather than cryptographic linkage to the original artifact, verifying that a digital copy matches its authoritative physical source still requires manual reconciliation.

Differentiators from

Conventional Digitization

Unlike conventional digitization, which can provide digital copies with integrity controls but without a cryptographically verifiable linkage to their physical source records, VeritasAnchor’s patented physical-to-digital anchoring technology (U.S. Patent No. 12,132,827) cryptographically binds each digital replica to its authoritative paper original through an Audit Companion Sheet carrying a unique Document Tracking ID and a Document Private Key, with the replica’s record anchored to a blockchain to create tamper-evident provenance that supports automated, independent verification against the physical source.

Why Physical-to-Digital Trust Matters:

Trustworthy AI and Post-Quantum Resilience

This matters because when digital copies lack a cryptographically secure link to the physical source of truth, AI built on them becomes a potential liability rather than an asset.

Additionally, unlike purely digital solutions, VeritasAnchor delivers resilience in post-quantum scenarios because the original paper records remain the authoritative record—independently verifiable outside any digital system, by design.

Example Use Cases
in Government & Commercial Markets

Healthcare & Life Sciences: Clinical trial records; Lab notebooks; Batch manufacturing records.

Pharma / Biotech: GMP documentation; Batch release records.

Medical Devices: ISO 13485 Quality Systems Documentation.

Real Estate, Finance, & Legal Contracts: Wet signature transactions.acts: Wet signature transactions.

Government / Courts / Law Enforcement: Chain of custody forms; Evidence logs; Signed affidavits (often still physical originals).

Elections: Paper ballots or paper audit trails required in many U.S. jurisdictions.

  • The Current Tradeoffs in Modern Voting: Paper ballots are essential to election security, but slow to count and prone to costly disputes, while electronic voting is fast to count, but vulnerable to hacking and risks voter anonymity.
  • The PaperBallotchain Breakthrough: VeritasAnchor LLC’s PaperBallotchain solution provides the best of both, pairing paper ballots and blockchain technology to provide the first-ever cryptographically-secure, voter-verifiable, publicly-verifiable, yet still anonymous, near-instant-count, paper-ballot voting system.

Current Validation & Status of Product

VeritasAnchor’s key validation is U.S. Patent No. 12,132,827, which covers the underlying technology enabling its physical-to-digital anchoring approach.

VeritasAnchor's technology is at the pre-prototype stage: Approximately $4.8 million is required to develop the minimum viable product across two phases.

  • Phase I will develop and validate the custom Scanner-Set Assembly hardware and software that implements the patented physical-to-digital anchoring process, and
  • Phase II will build on that validated base by adding custom blockchain software, a blockchain explorer with report-generating software, and smart-printer hardware and software for secure Document Tracking ID and cryptographic-key generation.
